Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page). Below, we have tried to answer the most common questions customers and visitors to our Web site may have. If you find that your question is not answered on this page, please E-mail us at gam.services@orange.fr.

  1. Can you address others domains of activity?
  2. Are the models available for download and, if yes, in which formats?
  3. Which viewer is used in Details pages?
  4. Do you intent to present your activities in other languages?
  5. Some models are in milimeters, other are in inch... Is there a rule?
  6. Are dimensions exact?
  7. The full screen view does not work correctly.

Can you address others domains of activity?

First of all the strong demand for Printed Circuit Board’s components and PCB modeling is particular and the consequence of :

  • miniaturization of components and products in electronic which oblige designers to consider 3D space available therefore 3D modeling when designing a small housing.
  • reduction of the time to market which speed up everywhere the 3D designing, scanning and printing to avoid the too long mockup phase in the development process.
  • non standardization of PCB design software with multiple proprietary formats that conduct to a lack of non standard 3D models components available for integration in these software and often the impossibility to export a 3D Pcb in a comprehensive format for mechanical CAD 3D design software.

In addition our staff has a deep knowledge in electronic and the associated technical considerations needed to make suitable 3D models for our customers.

But the answer to the question is “Yes we can”. We can address any kind of business activity especially for 3D presentation in web sites. See our Services provided and you will easily understand that these techniques apply to every company which needs to enhance their product visibility to end users.

Are the models available for download and, if yes, in which formats?

This web site version is only a showroom of our activities for our customers. We will probably set up an E-commerce shop for files downloads in a near future.

Our designers work with Google Sketchup 8 . We think that Sketchup will become essential in the coming years because it is so far an "open source" helped by a very large community and "plug ins" are already numerous and of high quality like Spread 3D for viewing Sketchup native files in 3D or Simlab plug in for creating 3D PDF files. In addition it is easy to convert native files in different formats like fbx, dxf, 3ds, wrl...

Which viewer is used in Details pages?

The viewer is Spread3D - http://www.spread3d.com/ - and is one of the rare web viewer for native Sketchup files (.skp format).
The model can be viewed:
-  inside the page like in the /3D models/Details pages in this site
-  in a new page like this or in a minimal windows popup like this

Do you intent to present your activities in other languages?

Yes we will provide as soon as possible a French version.

Some models are in millimeters, other are in inches. Is there a rule?

Majority of our models are in millimeters at scale 1:1. For designing small details some models are at scale 1:25.4 which means that the value in inches is exactly the real value in millimeter. This is often used in small mechanical parts. The designation of theses models ends with x25.

Are dimensions exact?

As far as the pdf drawing is available from manufacturer we design our models at the exact dimensions. We give in the details view the  brand and reference of the model we designed or we give equivalent models for having the same pcb layout and overall dimensions. When model is available in 3D from manufacturer site we usually work on textures and details to decrease as much as possible the weight of the file without changing the dimensions.

The full screen view does not work correctly.

You may experience problem when viewing the model in full screen mode on a second display. We recommend to place your internet browser on the main screen.
